The most widely used military helicopter, the Bell UH-1 series Iroquois, better known as the "Huey", began arriving in Vietnam in 1963. Before the end of the conflict, more than 5,000 of these versatile aircraft were introduced into Southeast Asia. "Hueys" were used for MedEvac, command and control, and air assault; to transport personnel and material; and as gun ships.

Considered to be the most widely used helicopter in the world, with more than 9,000 produced from the 1950s to the present, the Huey is flown today by about 40 countries.  Currently there are more than 3,700 UH-1's operating worldwide with around 600 registered UH-1 helicopters in the United States.

After talking with UH-1 owners, operators and maintenance personnel it was decided creating a site that would allow the sharing of information regarding maintenance, regulations and industry issues affecting the UH-1 operators would be beneficial.  We are constantly seeking input from our readers, so we can make sure this site continues to be the top UH-1 support platform for owners and operators of UH-1 helicopters.

Please subscribe to our newsletter on the maintenance page that will let you know when new content has been added to the site and industry news.  Your business can also support this site by donating money through site sponsorship,  submitting content regarding UH-1 maintenance, sharing resources or simply sending in pictures of your Huey at work.

Our goal is to keep the UH-1,  the most successful helicopter ever produced, flying safely for many years to come.

Thank you
