Sorry that NOONE took time to answer this. I assume you've figured out your issue by now.... There are several possibilities. Worst being the #1 seal. Others not so serious that can be remedied insitu..

@jim wright Sounds bout right... I've heard the "is it within limits" thingy... Still have the issue? I have a book that might help if you can find it. I've had it for 25. I ran a 53 engine shop in Bolivia with Dyncorp. State Dept contract. Been working on mediums for 30+ yeeeern! If you're still sourcing the issue I would be able / willing to make a copy and send it... Or maybe scan/PDF'it. Has basic stuff and some juicy stuff.
