Fuel Line Inspection

Over the years I have seen this many times. The fuel lines that go up the back wall of the hell hole from the boost pumps to the main fuel shutoff should be at least ½” from the transmission sump. Over time and temperature the lines will stretch. In this situation the hoses were installed new 50 hours ago and had clearance. It was checked when the aircraft was received. There have been temperatures between 100 to 111 degrees for a number of those days which probably accelerated the stretch. This needs to be checked at least every one hundred hours. I have seen many sumps worn severely & leaking and had to be changed. Not cheap.
